The material in detail

UV printing on ceramic is permanent, waterproof, and heat-resistant — the same properties that make ceramic the preferred surface in bathrooms, kitchens, and restaurants. The ink cures directly into the tile surface; it does not chip, fade, or wash off. Glastrix printed 24 glass tiles for Piri's restaurant in Berlin, reproducing the original hand-drawn wall art panel by panel. For the Zoff "Zwangsräume" installation, ceramic panels became the canvas for a site-specific artwork. In long-term partnership with ornament control designer Kathrin Kreitmeyer, Glastrix has produced hundreds of bathroom tile installations across Europe. Whether you're an interior designer specifying custom tile for a client bathroom, a restaurant owner preserving original artwork as permanent wall tile, or an artist creating a site-specific ceramic installation — Glastrix handles production from a single piece. From 1 tile, white-label, shipped within 48h.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are UV-printed ceramic tiles safe for bathrooms and showers?

Yes. UV ink on ceramic is fully waterproof, heat-resistant, and easy to clean — the same durability as the ceramic itself. Glastrix has produced bathroom and shower tile installations across Europe.

Can you print on existing tiles that are already installed?

No — UV flatbed printing requires the tile to lie flat on the press bed. Glastrix prints on uninstalled tiles, then ships them ready to lay or hand-finish on-site.

How do UV-printed tiles compare to hand-painted or factory-printed tiles?

Hand-painted tiles are slow, expensive, and inconsistent at scale. Factory-printed tiles require high-minimum industrial production runs. Glastrix UV prints from a single tile with photographic resolution and a 5-year durability guarantee — bridging artisan quality with production repeatability.

Can I send my own tiles to be printed?

Yes. Send your tiles to the Glastrix studio in Berlin-Kreuzberg; they will be printed and shipped back. This works for unique, hand-made, or specially sourced tiles.

Do UV-printed tiles require special maintenance?

No. UV-printed tiles clean exactly like unprinted tiles — standard tile cleaner, no abrasives required.

We print your product and ship it to your customer — invisibly.
