The material in detail

UV ink doesn't easily adhere to glass β€” it cures directly into the primed surface using a 5-colour flatbed press. The result is scratch-resistant, water-resistant, and UV-stable, with no film peeling or lamination. Glastrix prints on flat glass, safety glass (any thickness), mirrors, and back-painted glass up to 3.20 Γ— 2 metres without joints. Whether you're a photographer producing iris prints on thick safety glass, a lighting company sourcing backlit panels, or a brand ordering white-label glass products shipped directly to your own customers β€” the process is identical: no setup fee, no minimum run, printed and shipped within 48 hours of file approval and glass availability from Berlin. Every print carries a 5-year guarantee. Used by iris photographers, interior designers, hotel groups, and brand partners across Europe who need glass products delivered directly to their end customers without touching inventory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you print on tempered or safety glass?

Yes. Glastrix prints on 4 mm, 6 mm, and 10 mm safety glass β€” the same grades used in structural installations, shower enclosures, and large-format wall art. The UV ink cures directly into the surface regardless of glass thickness.

What is the minimum order for glass printing?

One piece. There is no setup fee and no minimum run. You pay per piece, whether you order 1 or 1,000.

Do you ship finished glass prints across Europe?

Yes. All orders ship white-label from Berlin within 48 hours of file approval β€” directly to your customers under your label if needed. EU-wide, no customs friction.

How does UV print on glass compare to vinyl wrap or printed film?

UV ink cures permanently into the glass surface β€” it cannot peel, bubble, or be lifted. Vinyl wrap is a film applied on top of glass that degrades under UV exposure, heat, and cleaning chemicals. For kitchen splashbacks, bathrooms, or any high-moisture surface, UV direct print outlasts vinyl by years with zero maintenance.

What file format is needed for glass printing?

High-resolution PDF or PNG at 300 dpi minimum. Glastrix reviews every file before printing and will flag any resolution issues before the job goes to press.

How durable is UV print on glass?

Every Glastrix print carries a 5-year guarantee. UV ink is cured into the glass surface, not applied as a film β€” it will not peel, bubble, or delaminate. The print is scratch-resistant and suitable for both interior and exterior applications.

Is UV-printed glass suitable for wet rooms like bathrooms and kitchens?

Yes. UV ink is permanently water- and chemical-resistant. UV-printed glass splashbacks are suitable for kitchen walls, shower enclosures, and commercial kitchens β€” the material meets standard hygiene requirements for food service environments.

What is the difference between front printing and reverse printing on glass?

Front printing places the design on the viewing side of the glass. Reverse printing places the design behind the panel, viewed through it β€” adding perceived depth and protecting the print from physical contact. For reception desks, partitions, and double-sided installations, reverse print is the recommended approach.

Does toughened glass (ESG) need to be fully processed before printing?

Yes. ESG must be thermally tempered before printing. Post-processing after the print run β€” cutting, grinding, or drilling β€” is not possible without shattering the glass. All dimensions and cutouts must be finalised before file approval.

Can I order a single sample before committing to a series?

Yes. Glastrix offers a free test print in your own artwork and material β€” one piece before the final order. There is no minimum quantity: single pieces and short runs are produced at the same unit price as larger orders.

What is the difference between printed glass tiles and ceramic tiles in wet rooms?

Printed glass tiles create seamless surfaces with no grout joints β€” eliminating the moisture and mould risk that grout lines introduce in kitchens and bathrooms. With reverse printing, the UV ink sits behind the glass and creates a visual depth effect that no ceramic material can replicate. One continuous glass panel covers a full splashback or shower wall without interruption.

What print resolution is recommended for UV-printed glass tiles?

For large-format glass surfaces β€” wall or ceiling panels from one square metre β€” 150 dpi at final output size is sufficient. Surfaces viewed close-up, such as kitchen splashbacks at eye level or reception counters, should be planned at 300 dpi to keep fine details and typography razor-sharp.

Should I finalise the mounting method before ordering printed glass?

Yes β€” before file approval. Whether you use point holders, U-profiles, clamping profiles, or full-surface adhesive mounting, the installation method affects glass thickness, motif margin, and depth. ESG cannot be cut or drilled after tempering and printing β€” millimetre deviations can require complete re-production.

Is a physical colour proof recommended before series production?

Yes, for sensitive colours. UV print on glass is highly reproducible, but corporate colours, skin tones, or coordinated interior colour concepts should be approved via a free test print before series production begins. Glastrix offers this at no charge β€” it eliminates colour deviation risk entirely.

We print your product and ship it to your customer β€” invisibly.
